These were the best days of our lives.

"Ti," Yoghurt said. "If how long we live was measured by how kind we are, you would live forever."
Nobody saw the tear that was tracing my cheek because I knew that if that were true, I should already be gone.


As she sat on the verandah, one warm evening,
listening to the nonsensical banter coming from her dysfunctional family,
a smile plastered itself to her face.
It had been so long since she had smiled like this,
it felt unnatural.
She smiled because a part of her that she had lost long ago,
had,
somehow,
returned,
fluttering back to the place in her heart where it belonged,
settled,
and began to heal the rest of her damaged heart.
